Welcome to DansMark Software Solutions A word to AutoCAD r14 users: Do not attempt to use the "data" system in StairMaster. As of this release, it WILL NOT WORK FOR R14 USERS. DansMark may, or may-not, correct this (This is at the digression of DansMark). Before running RailMaster or StairMaster for the first time. 1) Place a pathway to "stair-m" in the AutoCAD "files". To do this: a) At the command line, type "preferences", or "options". b) Or in the toolbar located at top, click "tools", then "options". Next follow the instructions below: Then, click the "files tab" & click the "Support File Search Path". Next, Click the "add" button. Then, the "Browse" button. Go to "c:\dansmark", highlight "stair-m", and click "ok". This should take you back the preferences dialog.. Click the "apply" button. Place the StairMaster menu in the main AutoCAD toolbar: A word of Caution!!! Never use/load any menu with an extension other than ".mns". This can/will do damage to all menu systems that are currently loaded. 1) From the command line, type "menuload" Select the "Menu Groups" tab. Pick the "Browse" button. Go to the "c:\dansmark\menu" directory. Pick "STAIRMASTER.MNS" from the list and pick the "ok" button. Next, make sure the "replace all" check box IS NOT CHECKED!!! Then, click the "load" button. Highlight "STAIRMASTER", then click the "Menu Bar" tab. Pick ABOVE the place you want the StairMaster menu to be placed. Example: To place StairMaster menu before the "Window" menu, pick "Window". Then click the "insert" button (this should place StairMaster in the Acad main toolbar. Next, click the "close" button. The StairMaster & RailMaster menu should now be loaded (if not, use AutoCAD's help to find out more on menu installations, search for "Menu Customization Dialog Box"). Using RailMaster & StairMaster: You must first open the one of the following "StairMaster_template.dwg" (r2000 & above) "StairM-r14_template.dwg" (r14 & above) "Stair_template.dwt" (r2000 & above) You can place these files anywhere you want, but YOU MUST USE THEM TO RUN ANY DANSMARK SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS SOFTWARE IN!!! Not using one of the provided templates can damage your AutoCAD system. DansMark will not be held responsible for your lack of understanding of the use of basic AuoCAD functions. If you doubt your ability to properly install the menu systems, use the AutoCAD help system. System data files: Always make back-up system data files. This is just plain good practice!! Before saving, editing or deleting the StairMaster data, you should always manually create yourself a copy, and place it in another directory, in case you corrupt the original data file. If you modify the data in any way, create a back-up. DansMark will not be held responsible for your lack of responsible file handling. Thanks for using DansMark Software Solutions! Dan Flemming Owner
